On Aug. 9, LG Electronics announced that it has launched a trial service that uses two outdoor robots at Mayfield Hotel in Seoul’s Gangseo District. The robots will deliver food and beverages to customers in the hotel’s outdoor terrace as well as bus tables. The robots are self-driving carts equipped with lids, which open upon arriving at a customer’s table. Customers simply have to put their empty plates back into the cart after finishing their meal, and the robots will carry them back to the kitchen. LG added that it’s planning to dispatch a beer-serving robot to the hotel next month. (provided by LG Electronics)
