[Photo] Safety Speed 5030 campaign to be expanded to 46 local governments in 2020

The Safety Speed 5030 campaign, which sets a speed limit of 50kph on major roads and 30kph on smaller roads, that’s been implemented in downtown Seoul and Busan, is expected to be expanded to include 46 local governments in 2020. By 2021, the speed limits are expected to be applied nationwide. The Ministry of the Interior and Safety (MOIS) announced the expansion on Jan. 9. The expansion will cover cities such as Gwangju and Daejeon, and will receive a budget of around 8.6 billion won (US$6.41 million).
