On Nov. 17, US President Donald Trump told North Korean leader Kim Jong-un that he needs to take quick action to reach a deal.
“I am the only one who can get you where you have to be. You should act quickly, get the deal done. See you soon!” Trump wrote on his personal Twitter account.
Trump made the personal appeal for Kim to engage in negotiations later in the day after top defense officials from the US and South Korea unexpectedly announced that they are postponing this year’s joint air exercises.
Trump’s “see you soon” remark hints at the possibility of a third North Korea-US summit, though he didn’t specify the timeframe.
